THE ADVISORS > Jerry Stauduhar Jerry Stauduhar assists executives, managers, professionals, and other business people in developing and producing business communications of all types. Jerry has helped clients from a broad array of industries to define their communication objectives, synthesize and structure their messages, and tailor those messages to reach the intended audience. He works in both written and visual media, with particularly deep expertise in the development, design, and delivery of presentations. (Many of his clients think of him as “The PowerPoint Guru.”) In addition, Jerry trains and coaches individuals and groups on the full range of skills needed to bring communications from conception to final delivery – whether on paper, digital, or presented live before a a group of five or 5,000. Jerry has also filled a variety of communications-oriented roles at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Chicago and, later, San Francisco. He began his McKinsey career in graphic design and production and quickly migrated into graphics and software training. As a PowerPoint expert, he was a member of the global pilot and rollout team for McKinsey’s customized suite of tools built on the MS Office platform. He later joined the Client Communications practice as a communication specialist and expanded his areas of mastery to include written, visual, and interactive communications of all kinds. In this role, he had a dual mission to help McKinsey consultants and clients prepare communication end products – such as data-driven exhibits and visual aids, reports, presentations, live events and meetings, videos and web-based information – while also building their communication skill sets through coaching and training. Among other highlights, Jerry co-developed an oral communication skills workshop called “Presenting With Impact,” adopted by McKinsey offices around the world. Jerry has led sessions in several McKinsey and client locations in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Jerry earned a bachelor’s degree from the Northwestern University School of Communication in 1985. Following graduation he worked for several years as an actor, director, writer, designer, and producer in the Chicago theater scene, where he was also the co-founder and Associate Artistic Director of Cloud 42, a highly acclaimed non-profit professional theater company. A native of Minnesota, Jerry currently resides in Los Angeles. |
