Turn It Into A Question

THE TOOLKIT
Turn it into a question…

People will commonly make statements giving their opinions instead of asking for yours. They are stating what they believe. And although this may not be a question, you’re still expected to respond. One way it to make it question. For example, take the statement:

“But we can’t afford to wait!”

Flip it around in your mind and put it into a question format. As a result, the statement would sound like this:

“Can we afford to wait?”

As a result, the statement comes across as a simple yes/no question. Answer it appropriately.

“Yes we can. The results will be well worth it.”
